Improvement of advisory work through joint training of EHO and DIMAK

02. Apr 2025.

A one-day experience exchange training between EHO and the German Information Center for Migration, Vocational Education and Career (DIMAK) from Belgrade was held with the aim of improving advisory work with clients who plan to work, study and/or live in Germany. The training was intended for advisors engaged in the international project "Prepared and successful migration to Germany", and was held on Wednesday, March 27, 2025, at the premises of EHO in Novi Sad.

DIMAK, which has been counseling returnees and potential migrants since 2016, presented its approach and work methods through four key thematic units:

  1. Working with clients - Holistic and individual approach in working with clients, with an emphasis on understanding the needs of each person.
  2. Case management - Presentation of the basics of case management, use of databases, compliance with data protection standards (GDPR), as well as the importance of monitoring and evaluating work.
  3. Outreach and PR - The importance of organizing info sessions and an active presence on social networks in order to inform and reach a wider target group.
  4. Mental health of counselors - Prevention of professional burnout through interactive workshops and self-help methods.

The experiences of DIMAK were conveyed in an engaging and inspiring way by Ivana Rističević and Valentina Đureta, who presented concrete examples from practice and initiated useful discussions with the participants.

The training was attended by advisers from the region (Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of North Macedonia) who are engaged in the project "Prepared and successful migration to Germany", and this exchange of knowledge and experience contributed to the strengthening of teams that provide direct support to citizens interested in working, studying or living in Germany.

We remind you that the project "Prepared and successful migration to Germany" is intended for people who want to be informed about the possibilities of legal migration and integration in Germany, and individual consultations are completely free.

The project is implemented with the support of the Diaconia of Baden-Württemberg.
