EHO gathered anti-discrimination peer educators
30. Jun 2025.
On June 26 and 27, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization gathered 16 peer educators and their teachers in Velika Plana for a two-day video recording session with a clear and important message – the fight against discrimination.
This activity is part of the project “Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Groups in Serbia 2023–2026”, which is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the Swiss organization HEKS/EPER.
During the gathering, peer educators prepared and recorded scenes based on the forum theater model, which shed light on real situations of discrimination that many peers encounter every day.
Among them is a scene in which parents decide to transfer their child to the second grade, because they do not want him to attend classes with children of Roma nationality. Another video shows a situation in which a boy is pressured by his peers not to accompany a Roma girl to her graduation, just because she is “different”.
These scenes are not just a depiction – they are a mirror of a reality that leaves a deep mark. That is why it is necessary to speak loudly and clearly about discrimination, to recognize it and together build a society in which differences are an asset, not a reason for separation.
That is why our peer educators say clearly and loudly: NO to discrimination!
The previous videos recorded by our peer educators address three different and important topics of discrimination that children and young people face every day. Watch these videos and get to know their messages at the following links:
