World Day of the Romani Language
05. Nov 2025.
Today, November 5, we celebrate the worldwide Romani Language Day, dedicated to the preserving and promoting of the language which is foundational for the identity and history of the Roma people. Although recognized as a minority language in many countries, the challenges of its preserving and transmitting to younger generations are still present.
The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is actively working to reduce discrimination and provides support to educational and cultural programs that promote the Romani language. The goal is to keep this language alive and accessible to future generations.
By preserving the Romani language, we preserve the culture, identity and history of the Roma, but also the wealth of the entire society.
