Creativity as a language of understanding – an integrative workshop at the Bujanovac Reception Center

17. Dec 2025.

An integrative creative workshop with migrants was held at the Bujanovac Reception Center, organized by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, with the support of the donor ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).

Through colors, symbols, and joint work, participants had the opportunity to express themselves and send strong messages of love, hope, and togetherness. The central motif of the workshop was colorful paper hands – universal symbols of support, solidarity, and human connection. On them, participants wrote personal messages and values, confirming that art can be a common language that overcomes language and cultural barriers.

The workshop was aimed at strengthening social cohesion, mutual understanding, and a sense of belonging among migrants staying at the Reception Center. In a warm and encouraging atmosphere, participants demonstrated a high level of engagement, creativity, and willingness to cooperate.

The ecumenical humanitarian organization, with the support of the ELCA, continues to implement integrative and educational activities that provide migrants with a safe space for expression, empowerment and trust-building, promoting the values of solidarity, human rights and dignity. Together we build a community in which everyone has the right to a voice and visibility.
