30. Jan 2026.

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) from Novi Sad launched the campaign Let’s Help Children from Novi Sad Stay in School – Not on the Street on the Donacije.rs platform at the beginning of December. By the end of January, with the support of individuals and companies, RSD 183,810 had been raised, which is about 61% of the targeted RSD 300,000.

The campaign runs from December 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026, and the funds raised are intended for children growing up in vulnerable communities and Roma settlements, at risk of being involved in street life and/or work.

What kind of support is provided?

The collected amount will fund support packages for 30 children enrolled in the organization’s long-term program, including:

  • Organization of 5 educational workshops (art, sports, and psychological support),

  • 80 hours of individual support in learning and homework assistance,

  • Provision of school supplies (notebooks, pencils, and backpacks if needed).

Support is provided where it is most accessible to the children – during the school year in the extended stay programs at Jožef Atila, Vuk Karadžić, and Dušan Radović elementary schools, as well as through the Novi Sad Shelter for Children and Youth. Here, children have a calm space to work, adult support, and a safe, continuous learning environment.

Long-term work with at-risk children

EHO has been implementing the project “Support for children at risk of being involved in street life and/or work” since 2009. During 2024, the organization’s team and volunteers:

  • Made 710 contacts with children,

  • Enrolled 206 children in educational programs,

  • Conducted 503 field visits,

  • Distributed 165 school bags, 55 diaper packs, 48 pairs of shoes, and 122 winter jackets.

The program focuses not only on immediate assistance but also on creating conditions for children to stay in school, develop their skills, and receive ongoing support throughout their education. Special emphasis is placed on building self-confidence and recognizing talents, from creative workshops to regular academic support.

How you can get involved

Although more than half of the goal has already been raised, the campaign is still ongoing, and the remaining funds are needed to provide all 30 children with the full planned support.

Anyone wishing to support the campaign can do so via the Donacije.rs platform, on the page: Let’s Help Children from Novi Sad Stay in School – Not on the Street. By contributing, you directly help children from the most vulnerable communities in Novi Sad have a better chance to stay in school, develop their talents, and grow up with support – not on the margins of the system.
