International Family Day – messages of hope from PC Bujanovac

05. Jan 2026.

On the occasion of January 1. International Day of the Family, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization organized an integrative creative workshop with migrants at the Bujanovac Reception Center, as part of the project "Empowerment of Refugee Women, Children and Unaccompanied Minors in Serbia" which is implemented in cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia.

Through written messages, drawings and symbolic forms, participants shared their thoughts on family, togetherness, peace and hope. The messages, written in different languages, were combined into a common board that testifies to the universal importance of the family, regardless of origin or circumstances.

The workshop provided a space for expression, connection and mutual support, contributing to strengthening the psychosocial stability of migrant families. Through such activities, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, supported by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), continues to create safe and stimulating spaces for the empowerment and integration of migrants.

Family as strength, support and hope - a message from the Bujanovac Refugee Center.
