The ecumenical service for the World Day of Prayer 2026 on the theme “Come to me ... I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28-30) comes from Nigeria and invites us all to draw closer to God and find rest in Him. In every age, and today is no different, people are burdened with various burdens and carry various burdens, which weigh down the body, mind and soul. We will hear about specific burdens such as: the burden of shame and low self-esteem, systemic oppression and the burden of religious persecution and poverty, through the confessions of our Nigerian sisters. These confessions will help us to understand, not only the weight of human suffering, but also to find the way out and the rest that God offers.
