Girls from Bavanište celebrated March 8th with a creative workshop
11. Mar 2026.
At the Bora Radić Elementary School in Bavanište, 18 girls from the Girls' Club participated in a workshop dedicated to celebrating International Women's Day. The workshop was organized as part of the project "Social Inclusion for a Dignified Life of Roma and Other Vulnerable Persons in Serbia 2023–2026". The project is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the Swiss organization HEKS/EPER.
At this workshop, the girls discussed the importance of this international holiday. They talked about their role models that they see in their mothers, grandmothers, and teachers. They gave them greeting cards through which they expressed their feelings and gratitude.
A special focus was also on the importance of education. Through the conversation and activities, the girls realized that education provides the power to realize their dreams, develop their talents, and become independent women who can change the world around them. Learning and knowledge are key tools for achieving personal and professional goals, as well as for active participation in the community.
These workshops provide not only an opportunity for creative expression, but also a space to strengthen self-confidence, independence and awareness of one's own potential. Through these activities, the girls were inspired and encouraged to work hard and study in order to one day achieve their dreams and contribute to positive changes in society.
