13. Mar 2026.

Two EHO representatives attended the training: "Gender-based violence in emergencies", held on 11 and 12 March 2026 at the Training Center Plandište of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration (SCRM). The training is organized by SCRM in cooperation with UNICEF, and through the project "Promoting evidence-based migration management to maximize the development potential of migration", implemented in the Republic of Serbia by SCRM, IOM, UNICEF, UNHCR and UNDP.

The training was also attended by employees from KIRS, other state bodies and civil society organizations that provide services to beneficiaries, so this training was an opportunity for the present colleagues to exchange examples of good practice and strengthen their capacities for working with beneficiaries. The training was organized with the aim of strengthening the capacities and better networking of all actors who come into contact with persons from the migrant population, and in order to more effectively identify gender-based violence, practice procedures for reporting and dealing with it, and provide protection to persons. Furthermore, we were introduced to the cultural specificities of the countries of origin from which migrants come, as well as the characteristics of a good professional in this work.

This thematic training on the prevention and handling of gender-based violence continued to strengthen the capacities of all actors in the field of migration management, who carry out activities in the centers managed by SCRM.
