08. Apr 2026.

International Roma Day is more than a date on the calendar — it is a day of remembrance, recognition and shared responsibility. A reminder of the rich history, tradition and identity of the Roma people, who have preserved their language, culture and spirit throughout the centuries despite numerous challenges. It is also a day when we recognize the strength of the community that has enriched the society we live in with its contribution — through art, music, customs, but also through everyday, quiet victories that often remain invisible.

At the same time, this day calls on us not to close our eyes to reality. Many members of the Roma community still face poverty, discrimination and limited access to education, employment and healthcare. That is why International Roma Day is not just a moment for congratulations — but also an opportunity for reflection, solidarity and concrete action.

As an Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, we believe that the dignity of every person must be the foundation of every society. We believe in a community in which diversity is not an obstacle, but a strength. Where every child has an equal chance to learn, grow and dream. Where every individual's voice is heard and respected.
Today we want to send a message of support and respect to the Roma community — but also to remind you that building a more just society does not take a day. It requires daily commitment, understanding and a willingness to stand by each other.

May this day be an encouragement to build bridges instead of walls, to listen, learn and act together.

Happy International Roma Day.
