April 12th celebrated through socializing and creative activities

17. Apr 2026.

On the occasion of the International Day of Children Living or Working on the Streets, on April 12th, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization organized a small excursion for children involved in the activities of the project "Support for Children at Risk of Being Involved in Living and/or Working on the Streets".

The excursion was realized on a meadow by the Danube, in a pleasant and relaxed environment, with the aim of providing children with the opportunity to socialize, play and spend time in nature. The day began with a joint lunch, with pizza and refreshing drinks, followed by creative activities. The children had the opportunity to make kites, which aroused special interest and joy, and then they spent their free time playing with a ball and other spontaneous activities outdoors.

A total of 12 children participated in the activity - 4 boys and 8 girls, with the support of two peer educators, who contributed to the organization and implementation of the activity by working with the children and encouraging their involvement.

The purpose of marking this day is to draw public attention to the challenges faced by children involved in street life and/or work, but also to the importance of continuous support in their development, education and social inclusion. Through activities like this, children are given the opportunity to develop social skills, strengthen their self-confidence and spend time in a safe and stimulating environment.

This activity was implemented as part of the project "Support for children at risk of being involved in street life and/or work", which the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization implements with the support of the H.Stepic CEE Charity from Vienna, as well as thanks to donations from citizens.

We continue to provide support to children through various activities, creating space for a carefree childhood, play and development, because every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe and stimulating environment.
