Exchange of Experiences and Empowerment of Volunteers in Novi Pazar
29. Apr 2026.
Connecting young people, exchanging ideas, and strengthening solidarity were at the center of a three-day gathering in Novi Pazar, which officially marked the conclusion of this year’s “EU Week of Opportunities.” The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization participated in the event within the project “Humanitarian Volunteering for Solidarity Activities” (HVSA).
The host of the gathering was Merhamet Sandžak, and the program brought together volunteers from different countries who worked through practical workshops on topics of communication and sustainability. Among them was EHO volunteer Furkan Yildirim, who had the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues from everyday fieldwork.
A special encouragement for the participants was provided by Plamena Halačeva, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia. She emphasized that young people are precisely those who deserve tools and confidence to independently shape their future.
For EHO, this meeting represents a continuation of its mission of empowering youth. We believe that investing in knowledge and networking of volunteers directly contributes to strengthening local communities. Through solidarity and concrete learning opportunities, we create a space in which every young person can become a driver of positive change.
The project is implemented within the framework of the “Humanitarian Volunteering for Solidarity Activities” (HVSA) program, carried out by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) with the support of the European Solidarity Corps (EU Aid Volunteers) and the European Union.
