EHO participation in the KIRS/SCRM Network for the Integration of Persons with Granted International Protection

A representative of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization participated in the second meeting of the Network for the Integration of Persons with Granted International Protection, which was held on the 23rd April, 2026 at the Palace of Serbia, organized by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia (KIRS/SCRM). The aforementioned Network seeks to improve the coordination of all relevant actors in the field of integration of persons with granted international protection, through the exchange of information, joint planning and improvement of support services. The meeting discussed the continuation of activities aimed at improving the coordination of institutions and organizations involved in the integration process of the aforementioned persons.
The activity was implemented within the project "Secure Procedures. Rights for All. Strengthening Migration Management and the Asylum System in Serbia", which is implemented by KIRS with the support of the Government of the Swiss Confederation, in cooperation with UNHCR, IOM and the Ministry of the Interior, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of institutions for efficient migration management and providing adequate support to persons with granted international protection.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the KIRS/SCRM, the Ministry of Interior, the National Employment Service, UNHCR and several civil society organizations.
At the event, the process of developing individual integration plans was presented as the first step in a systematic approach to integration. Discussed were also the possibilities related to the right to housing, with a focus on the challenges that arise in practice. The Commissariat and UNHCR also jointly presented the planned project activities in the field of refugee integration in the coming period.
The Network meetings are held quarterly, and the next meeting is planned for the end of June 2026.
