On February 26, 2020, the project team of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization visited the Elementary School "Petar Petrović Njegoš" in Zrenjanin.
Zrenjanin is one of the seven local communities in Vojvodina in which our organization implements the project "Improvement of the socio-economic situation of the marginalized in Vojvodina through education and economic empowerment" with the aim of improving the educational integration of children and youth from marginalized groups.
During the visit to the school, the students presented themselves through a short program in Romani, Serbian, German and English, followed by the distribution of school supplies, which is one of the activities of this project with mentoring, workshops and support in obtaining the necessary documents. On this occasion, we talked to the school principal and the teaching staff involved in the project. It was pointed out that the project significantly contributes to the motivation and school integration of children.
The three-year project "Improvement of the socio-economic situation of the marginalized in Vojvodina through education and economic empowerment" is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of Brot für die Welt and Diakonie Württemberg / Hoffnung für Osteuropa from Germany.
