Challenges of remote learning for socially deprived children
03. Jun 2020.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, classes in schools in Serbia have been suspended since mid-March, and distance learning has been organized for students. This situation has led to the reorganization of the activities of the project "Education of socially deprived children and youth in Serbia", whose second cycle is being implemented in nine municipalities in Serbia since July 2019. The project team and associates in the field continuously monitored the progress of classes for children involved in the project and responded to the needs that arose in the new situation. Technical conditions for monitoring classes, internet access, learning support and financial situation were a challenge for children and youth from poor families and those who belong to particularly vulnerable categories, so the volume of support planned by the project will increase in the coming period.
The project is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the financial support of the German organization Brot für die Welt.
