Support to pupils in enrollment in secondary school

13. Jul 2020.

By enrolling in secondary school, the school year for eighth grade primary school pupils is over. This school-year was full of challenges due to the transition to distance learning in March this year. The enrollment was preceded by intensive support for children from marginalized groups by project associates in seven primary schools in Vojvodina. The support consisted of individual mentoring support, counseling regarding the mock final exam and preparation for the final exam which took place in small groups with respect to all epidemiological protection measures.
In the previous period, many students faced the challenges of distance learning such as lack of computers, telephones, internet but also insufficient competence to use new technologies. For students who had difficulty following classes and being in contact with teachers through various applications, project collaborators prepared printed material that was delivered by mail or delivered in person.
The three-year project "Improvement of the socio-economic situation of the marginalized in Vojvodina through education and economic empowerment" is implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of Brot für die Welt and Diakonie Württemberg / Hoffnung für Osteuropa from Germany.
