Through trainings to inclusion and interculturalism

Within the project "Strengthening the capacity of local and Roma communities in the City of Šabac for inclusive processes LET'S GET INVOLVED (Key to Inclusion)" a training was held on social mechanisms of creating and maintaining prejudice, and a constructive approach to social differences and the importance of interculturalism. The training was intended for representatives of civil society institutions and organizations, and was held at the Center for Professional Development in Sabac, on July 3 and 4, 2020.
Topics on which participants had the opportunity to listen and learn were intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity, understanding of social mechanisms of formation and maintenance of prejudices and stereotypes towards minority communities, the importance of differences as an incentive for the development of intercultural learning.
On behalf of the Municipal Administration of Sabac, the Center for Social Work Sabac, preschools, NGOs Debt Association and Caritas Šabac, the training was attended by 10 professionals who through active participation exchanged opinions, knowledge and experiences that can improve in work and cooperation with Roma community in the territory of the City of Sabac and thus contribute to stronger inclusive processes.
The training was led by Andrijana Nikolić and Radmila Avramović, from Caritas Šabac.
The project is implemented by the City of Šabac, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization from Novi Sad and the College of Social Work from Belgrade within the grant scheme of the program "EU Support to Roma Inclusion - Strengthening Local Communities for Roma Inclusion", funded by the European Union and implemented by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities - Association of Cities and Municipalities of Serbia.
