Support to socially disadvantaged final year pupils of elementary school

03. Aug 2020.

The humanitarian association "Đina" from Bački Gradište is implementing the project "Support to socially disadvantaged students in the final grades" within the program "Local Initiative for Inclusion of Marginalized Groups" funded by HfO (Hoffnung fur Osteuropa) and DW (Diakonie Wurtemberg) from Germany.
The aim of the project is to provide support to Roma and other marginalized young people for inclusion in the education system and achieving full social inclusion. The initial workshop with the students of the final grade of primary school and the first grade of secondary school was held on August 1, 2020 in Bački Gradište, where a portfolio of each student was made with their potentials and educational needs identified. During the workshop, the cases for which they need support, the type of support and the way of providing support in the coming period were identified. Based on the collected information, individual support plans will be created for each student. It is planned to hold a total of 16 workshops and meetings with young people in order to provide support in learning and their better inclusion in the school system in the territory of Bački Gradište.
The project "Local mechanisms for the integration of marginalized groups" is a program of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization from Novi Sad, which aims to support local initiatives that contribute to positive social change and strengthening civic initiatives in the Republic of Serbia.
