Smart-board for pupils in Smederevska Palanka
30. Sep 2020.
Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) donated a smart board to the Elementary School "Olga Milošević" in Smederevska Palanka within the local initiative "Didactics, Serbian and Math" implemented by the Center for Roma Community Development "Amaro Drom" from Smederevska Palanka.
The need for a smart board in the school arose because of pupils who are returnees under the Readmission Agreement and mostly from the Roma community who do not speak Serbian, who do not read and write the Serbian alphabet, and with difficulties for active participation in classes and attendance of curriculum .
With the help of digital technology and a smart board, at least 15 students from the Roma community will receive support in mastering and learning school materials in an interactive way. Teachers will be able to use the board regularly and to improve students' knowledge of the Serbian language and mathematics through innovative programs, quizzes and educational games.
Now, this is a secon classroom in the school equipped with a smart board, and the software program has been translated into the Romani language in order to better support Roma students.
We would like to remind you that the local initiative "Didactics, Serbian and Math" is one of six initiatives supported by the EHO within the program "Local Mechanisms for Inclusion of Marginalized Groups" which aims to support actions that contribute to positive social change and strengthening civic initiative in the Republic of Serbia.
The project is financially supported by HfO (Hoffnung fur Osteuropa) and DW (Diakonie Wurtemberg) from Germany.
