Dancing through Roma fables and legends

The intercultural festival "Dancing through a fairy tale" was held at the Theater of Šabac with an aim to further promoting Roma culture and Roma cultural identity, including cultural heritage of other national communities living in the city of Šabac. The festival presented various dance choreographies of children and young people and through the dance the legend of the Roma people and their culture was told. Music, dance, acting, playing and singing were communication channels in order to send a clear message to all citizens of the City of Šabac about the importance of coexistence of all national communities and fostering intercultural dialogue and social inclusion.
Within the festival, there are awards and prizes (schoolbags and school supplies) to students for the best literary works on the topic "Different, yet the same".
The event was realized by the Cultural Art Society "Šabac Majorettes" within the project "Strengthening the capacity of local and Roma communities in the City of Šabac for inclusive processes - GET INVOLVED (Key to Inclusion)" realized by the City of Šabac and partners Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization from Novi Sad and High School of Social Work from Belgrade, within the program "EU Support to Roma Inclusion - Strengthening Local Communities for Roma Inclusion" funded by the European Union and implemented by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities.
Due to epidemiological measures, the program was not attended by audience, as originally planned, but the entire program was recorded and shall be broadcast on television and social networks.
