Social protection services aimed at supporting returnee families
21. Oct 2020.
One of the conclusions of the round table "Services in the social protection system" is that the needs of returnee families under the Readmission Agreement are multiple and complex, and that they need a comprehensive approach that includes cooperation between governmental and non-governmental sectors in order to strengthen and (re) integrate families. The event was organized held by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization in Niš on 21 October 2020.
The round table gathered experts from the social protection system from the following municipalities: Niš, Aleksinac, Sokobanja, Trgovište, Kuršumlija, Boljevac, Leskovac, Bujanovac, Preševo, Gadžin Han, Surdulica and Ražanj.
The aim of the event was to exchange information and experiences in the field of implementation of specific activities in the field that are of interest to families returned under the Readmission Agreement in the Republic of Serbia, and also to endorse professional public with the Guide for Integration of Returnees, which contains research and analysis of the current regulatory framework and mapping of services in 17 municipalities in the Republic of Serbia. The guide is intended for returnee families who were voluntarily or forcibly returned to Serbia after the signing of the Readmission Agreement, and which has been translated and available in 4 languages (Romani, Albanian, German and Serbian).
The round table is part of the project "Integration Network in Serbia", which is being implemented with the support of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), the Ministry of Baden-Württemberg and the Diakonie Württemberg from Stuttgart .
