Job vacancy for the position: Project Associate - Architect

The Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization is one of the leading civil society organizations in Serbia, which contributes to building of a just society (with a respect to multifaceted diversity) through practical activities, ie. writing and implementing development projects.

EHO target groups are all vulnerable and marginalized groups whose human rights have been violated and / or discriminated.

Job description:

  • Participation in project implementation;
  • Performing field work on the project;
  • Collecting necessary data from returnee families about them and their homes;
  • Making the necessary sketches, photographs and technical drawings for the planned construction works, commissions and reports;
  • Preparation of bill of quantities and estimates for the procurement of construction materials and works;
  • Monitoring and controlling construction works performed / organized by the families themselves: construction of septic tanks, construction of foundations, construction of bathrooms, installation of ceilings, replacement of windows and doors, roof repairs, etc., as well as works of hired subcontractors for sewerage, plumbing and electrical works and installation tile;
  • Giving instructions to persons / families participating in the project, regarding the execution of construction works, at all stages;
  • Providing consultancy and advisory services in the field of construction works;
  • Gathering information and preparing analyzes and reports on project activities related to construction works on the improvement of housing conditions and gives proposals for possible changes and further development of project activities;
  • Providing the necessary logistical support in the field; if necessary, communication with suppliers of construction materials;
  • Collection of documentation required for monitoring and evaluation of project activities (statistical data, reports, minutes, photographs, etc.).

We expect from the candidates:

  •     Appropriate education: Higher education - ARCHITECT
  •     Required work experience of at least 1 (one) year in the field of construction
  •     Experience working in humanitarian or development organizations is desirable
  •     Knowledge of English
  •     Active use of computers and knowledge of working in MS Office, AutoCAD
  •     Category B driver's license and owning your own vehicle for field work
  •     Sensitivity to work with vulnerable social groups
  •     Willingness for further training
