EHO further increases own capacity to receive volunteers from EU countries
21. Dec 2020.
Another meeting in the series of online meetings „Strengthening the capacity of humanitarian organizations for receiving and managing EU volunteers“ was held during the last week. In the course of the 2020, Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization took part in the process of certification for the reception of volunteers from EU countries together with Serbian organizations: MHD Merhamet Sandžak from Novi Pazar and Čovekoljublje, (charitable fund of the Serbian Orthodox Church) from Belgrade, all with mentorship from the ADRA Slovakia (ADRA). As it is a two-year project, a meeting was held at which further steps in the process of strengthening the capacity of organizations for the admission of EU volunteers were presented. In the further work, activities will be focused on mapping organizations that include volunteers in their activities so that the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and the above organizations through experience and further training develop their own capacity to receive and guide volunteers according to European Union standards.
The project is realized with support of the Italian partner ASPEm (ASPEm –European Commission) and financed from EU funds, within the EU Aid Volunteering program.
