Free legal aid - what are the forms of this assistance

According to the Law on Free Legal Aid, free legal aid consists of:

1) Provision of legal advice - a detailed explanation of the manner and possibility of resolving a specific legal matter before a court, other state body, ie public authority or in the procedure of peaceful settlement of a dispute, which refers to the right, obligation or interest of free legal aid the law.
2) Drawing up a submission - drafting a letter initiating proceedings before a court, other state body, ie public authority or which is submitted during the already initiated procedure (drafting a lawsuit, request, proposal, petition, complaint, objection, submission, appeal and other legal funds).
3) Representation - any legal action undertaken by a proxy on behalf of and for the account of the beneficiary of free legal aid in proceedings before a court, other state body, public authority or in the procedure of peaceful settlement of a dispute.
4) Defense - representation of a suspect, accused or accused in pre-investigation, investigative and criminal proceedings, which is conducted due to suspicion that a criminal offense has been committed for which no mandatory defense is provided, and representation in misdemeanor proceedings conducted due to suspicion that a misdemeanor has been committed imprisonment is envisaged.

In addition to free legal aid, there is also the free legal support, which consists of:

1) Provision of general legal information - information on the regulation of a legal area, the legal position of users in a particular legal matter, subject and manner of deciding on an individual right, obligation or interest based on law, before a court or other state body or public authority, on rules and the amount of costs of proceedings not related to court proceedings in a particular legal matter, the possibility of amicable settlement of the dispute, the manner of execution of the decision, the reasons and conditions for initiating administrative proceedings and proceedings initiated by a constitutional complaint and the conditions and procedure for exercising the right to free legal support.
2) Filling in the form - assistance in entering user data, which is filled in by the provider and signed by the beneficiary.
3) Mediation in resolving disputes, out of court, by a licensed mediator
4) Compilation of notarial deeds - compilation of notarial records and notarial records by notaries public.

Associations are allowed to provide the following forms of free legal support: provide general legal information and fill out forms, within the goals for which they were founded, and only upon their own registration in the Serbian Business Registers Agency.
