World Music Day celebrated in the Reception center Sombor
22. Jun 2021.
Our field associate in the reception center in Sombor organized an event to celebrate the 21st World Music Day with refugee women and children in the Reception center Sombor. This project support activity was realized in cooperation with a field worker from the Center for social work. Through the given activity, the children got acquainted with musical instruments, their names, appearance and sound, through an educational and creative way of working. After that, they created their common melody from different instruments (musical wooden sticks, metallophones, rattles). In the end, a game of "music chair" was organized, which the children liked the most and with which they had fun and relaxed.
There are currently 623 people in the Sombor reception center, of which 20 are children. The project "Empowerment of Women and Refugee Children" is being implemented by the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization with the support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
