EHO Tailoring Workshop
The EHO Tailoring Workshop, which has been part of our organization since 2017, carries a strong social mission and represents a key activity that helps women from vulnerable groups gain economic independence and professional skills. This workshop offers an opportunity for women with disabilities and those who are harder to employ to learn the craft of sewing and, through creative work, improve their social and economic situation.
Within the workshop, a team of talented seamstresses is engaged in redesigning and recycling donated second-hand clothing. Thanks to our second-hand warehouse, several tons of clothing that would otherwise end up in landfills are transformed each year into unique garments and fashion accessories. These products, created through handcraft and innovative approaches, are then displayed and sold in our center, as well as at various fairs, exhibitions, and events. This not only promotes sustainable fashion but also raises funds that support the operation of the EHO Tailoring Workshop and other activities of the center.
Within the workshop, there is also a work-occupational section led by the head seamstress, in which around ten women participate. These women primarily sew fashion accessories and provide simpler tailoring services, which allows them to further improve their skills and acquire new knowledge, enabling greater independence.
The EHO Tailoring Workshop is more than just a business venture – it is a true example of social entrepreneurship. Through this project, creativity, sustainability, and social responsibility come together, providing opportunities for work and professional development for women from marginalized groups. The workshop also contributes to waste reduction through recycling and repurposing clothing, while raising awareness about the importance of social inclusion and environmental preservation.
In this way, the EHO workshop not only helps its users but also contributes to creating positive changes in the community, where social goals are linked to sustainable and creative solutions.
